If you're looking for a color laser printer copier you have quite a variety of different brands and models to choose from. One of those choices happens to be the Samsung SCX4521FG Laser Multifunction Printer, Copier, Fax, Color Scanner. Here is a look a closer look at this Samsung machine.

The Samsung SCX4521FG isn't the cheapest model in the world, coming in at just under $200. However, it will pretty much do anything that you need it to do by utilizing one of its many multi-functions. With this machine you can print, copy, fax, scan and just about anything else you could want except for washing the dishes.

This color laser printer copier works fast -- oftentimes you can print up to 20 pages per minute, especially when you're printing text documents. The resolution is not the highest quality out there, but at 600 dots per inch (DPI) it is very good. In fact it comes pretty close to a professional job.

And this machine operates very quickly. To get it out of standby mode and to have it start printing usually only takes 11 seconds. This is unlike most other color laser printer copiers which tend to need 30 seconds or more to wake up.

In addition, if you have just updated to Windows vista, then you'll be happy to know that this model is certified for Windows vista.

One of the downsides is that it is kind of bulky, weighing in at 23 pounds. However, even though it looks bulky it's really more compact than many of the other multi-functional machines that are on the market. It is perfect for home-based businesses and also for small offices.

If you are going to use it as a fax machine, you will be pleasantly surprised with its three seconds scans as well as three second transmission periods. You can perform faxes directly from your PC as well with this machine.

The only other issue I had with this particular model was when it is in idle mode. Oftentimes it has a higher than normal noise level. It is not the end of the world, but you notice it. Of course, no machine is perfect, especially for only $200.

When you add everything together -- it's speed, its multi-functions, its high print quality, its professional results and its size, you can see why it gets my full endorsement. There may be better color laser printer copiers out there, but you would be hard pressed to find one as comparable as this unit from Samsung. It's definitely worth checking out.
